Mumbai: After the search by the Enforcement Directorate at the house of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s brother, the party’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that the Centre has created a ‘raid raj’, but the Congress will not fear.
Reacting to the raid against Agrasen Gehlot in Jodhpur, Surjewala told reporters, “Prime Minister Modi has created ‘raid raj’ in the country but we are not afraid.”
The spokesman said that when the Centre’s gimmick in Rajasthan failed to thwart the Congress government, the ED raids started on Gehlot’s elder brother’s hideouts.
He said that a CBI team was dispatched to raid a place associated with an MLA Krishna Poonia, where the strategy to thwart the government elected by the central government had failed.
Officials said the ED’s raid against the Chief Minister’s brother is part of a nationwide raid in a money laundering case related to a fertilizer scam.
Agrasen Gehlot faced a customs duty of Rs 7 crore in this alleged fertilizer case.
