Coronavirus Cases Rises To 649 In India, 13 Dead

Mumbai: According to a recent update from the Union Ministry of Health, the total number of people affirming positive for COVID-19 in India has increased to 649 in India, with 593 active cases and 42 people who have recovered from hospitals.

According to official figures, the death rate due to the novel coronavirus has reached 13 in the country. Since yesterday evening, there have been 3 more deaths due to COVID-19 in the country.

An 85-year-old woman died in Gujarat yesterday, while with the death of a 65-year-old woman, Madhya Pradesh reported the death of its first COVID-19. The first death in the state also occurred yesterday due to a deadly infection in Tamil Nadu.

According to a report from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India had tested 24,254 people as of 8 p.m. on March 25.

The country is now in the second day of a 21-day lockout, which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to deal with the spread of coronavirus, saying that “social disturbances” are the only option to combat the disease, which spreads rapidly.
