Coronavirus Panics To Cover Delhi Violence: Mamata Banerjee Targets BJP Amid Health Crisis

Mumbai: At a time when fears of coronaviruses have gripped the entire nation, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday alleged that the scare of the novel virus is nothing more than a strategy to divert people’s attention from the recent Delhi violence.

“People are shouting Corona, Corona. Don’t panic. Some (media) channels are trying to cover Delhi violence with coronavirus terror. The West Bengal CM yesterday launched a scathing attack on the BJP, saying the Delhi violence was a “state-sponsored massacre”. Addressing a TMC event in Kolkata, he alleged that the BJP was trying to replicate the “Gujarat riots model” across the country.

“I have suffered greatly from the killing of innocent people in Delhi. I think it is a planned genocide. I am calling it a massacre as it was state-sponsored violence that was later projected as riots.
