Coronavirus Spreads To All 50 States Of US, Death Toll Surpasses 100

Mumbai: With reports of norovirus cases in all 50 states of the United States, the total number of known infections is 6,400 and more than 100 people have died in the country.

US President Donald Trump said progress was being made against the rapidly spreading pathogen and predicted that the US economy would “come back” when it slowed down.

With a total number of respiratory disease cases and 6,400 previous known American infections in all 50 states, millions of Americans jumped down at home instead of going home to work or school.

New York City said it could order its 8.5 million residents to “shelter” at home, as cities increase “social disturbance” policies by closing schools, restaurants and theatres to prevent the spread of the virus.

“It’s a very difficult decision,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said. “We had never come before.” State Governor Andrew Cuomo told CNN that he did not think it would work.

About 6.7 million people in the San Francisco Bay Area have already been ordered to stay home for all but the most significant outings until April 7.. Eateries were closed in addition to carry-out orders and deliveries, and bars were closed, but marijuana dispensaries were left open by health officials as “essential drugs”.

“It’s like living in a ‘Twilight Zone,’” said Rowan Oake, 36, during a jog through San Francisco’s Presidio Park. “You can feel the anxiety in the air.”

In Washington state, where 52 people have died, many in a suburban Seattle long-term care facility, Governor Jay Inslee signed legislation for $ 200 million for homeless assistance and other measures to fight the virus. The Governor of California signed $ 1 billion, and the Governor of Georgia approved $ 100 million.

In New Jersey, Governor Phil Murphy closed the indoor shopping mall, while a record number of unemployment caused the state’s computer systems to crash. The nation’s largest indoor shopping centre, the Minnesota Mall of America, said it would close.

Kansas shuttered schools through the end of the academic year.
