On the controversial remarks made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, who has now been suspended from the party for her remarks against Prophet Mohammad, she said, “The Middle East and Arab countries brought our country to its knees and we were forced to apologise. In his speech, Thackeray attacked the BJP for his controversial statements ranging from Hindutva to inflation and party leaders.

The BJP on Sunday suspended Sharma and its Delhi unit’s media chief Naveen Kumar Jindal as a controversy erupted following protests from some Muslim countries over their alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad.
