Country Is On Its Way To Win Wrong Race: Rahul Gandhi

Mumbai: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday attacked the Center over the rise in novel coronavirus cases in the country.

On Twitter, Gandhi said that the country is mentioned in the highest number of COVID-19 cases after America, Brazil, and Russia.

“India is firmly on its way to winning the wrong race. A horrific tragedy, resulting from a lethal blend of arrogance and incompetence,” Gandhi tweeted. 

Currently, India is ranked fourth among all countries in terms of the number of coronavirus cases.

The Congress leader’s remarks came on a day when, for the first time since the outbreak of coronavirus, India registered more than 10,000 new cases in 24 hours, reaching 2,97,535, while the death toll was 8,498 with a record single-day spike 396 fatal.
