COVID-19: Maharashtra, Kerala Report Highest Cases

Mumbai: The Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday that Maharashtra and Kerala issued the highest number of COVID-19 case reports and recorded the maximum number of active cases.

Speaking at a press conference, Secretary of the Union Ministry of Health, Rajesh Bhushan said: “As of last week, the main cause for concern is again two states as Kerala has 61,550 cases while 27,383 cases are in Maharashtra.”

However, Bhushan reported that Kerala has recorded 2,084 new cases in the last 24 hours, a significant drop compared to the previous days reported.

“In the last 24 hours, there are 3,365 new cases in Maharashtra, which is higher than Kerala,” he said.

87,40,000 vaccine doses have been administered in India, Bhushan told during the presser.

“We have given more than 87,40,000 vaccine doses. Of this, 85,70,000 are the first dose and over 1,70,000 are the second dose. These numbers are increasing,” he said.
