COVID-19 : Mamata Banerjee Advises People To Cover Mouth Using Soft Cloth

The West Bengal CM also said that international flights should be banned with immediate effect

Mumbai: To maintain coronavirus infection in the Gulf, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suggested people use clothes to cover their mouths and noses in case of lack of face masks.

Banerjee said on Friday, “Since there is a scarcity of masks, people can use it to tie a cloth around their face. However, I am not sure that people should consult doctors.”

The West Bengal CM also said that international flights should be banned with immediate effect.

“Why should international flights stop on March 22? It needs to be done immediately, we said this at the conference (Prime Minister’s video-conference with Prime Ministers),” Banerjee told a press conference here.

The central government has banned the operation of international commercial passenger flights in India from 22 March to 29 March due to the epidemic.

The circular was issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday.
