Mumbai: On Friday, 762 new COVID19 positive cases were reported in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which totaled the tally of infected patients to 20,943 in the state.
Amit Mohan Prasad, Principal Secretary (Health) Uttar Pradesh said that there are 6,730 active cases in UP and 13,583 patients have been discharged so far.
Death toll rises up to 630 in the state including 19 fatalities on Friday.
The official said that so far 6.42 Lakh samples have been tested for COVID19 and of a record 19,387 samples were examined on Thursday.
Lakhs of migrant workers returned to Uttar Pradesh in the COVID19 situation, from which over 18.69 Lakh workers were tracked by the ASHA workers and 1643 migrants were found symptomatic, said the official.
The officer further said the CM Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to use COVID care fund and set up COVID testing centers in each district.
Uttar Pradesh despite being the most populated State in the country has controlled the spread of COVID19.
