Earlier, the Supreme Court had also said that they were not satisfied by the steps taken by the state government.

Four farmers were mowed down by an SUV in Lakhimpur Kheri when a group agitating against the Centre’s three new farm laws was holding a demonstration against the visit of UP deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on October 3.

Samyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of several farmer unions, alleged that Ashish Mishra Teni, son of MoS for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni came with three vehicles around the time that farmers were dispersing from their protest at the helipad and mowed down farmers.

However, Ashish has been refuting the allegations by SKM and said that he wasn’t present at the spot.

Eight people were killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday as violence erupted during the farmers’ protest, claiming the lives of both farmers and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) workers.
