Cyclone Vayu: Odisha Offers Help To Gujarat

Mumbai: Since the cyclone has started moving towards the Gujarat coast, the Odisha government offered all help to the western state, which has started extensively drilling exercises to move people from the lower areas of Saurashtra and Kutch areas.

Officials said on Wednesday that Gujarat Chief Secretary JN Singh called his Odisha counterpart AP Padhi and sought advice from Odisha to tackle the cyclonic storm of war-break.

Officials said that the Gujarat government was in constant touch with Odisha in the wake of the successful operation of the cyclone ‘Fani’ and the cyclone ‘Titli’ in the eastern state of May this year.

According to IMD, as cyclone ‘Vayu’, there is a possibility of winds blowing from 145 kilometres per hour to 170 km per hour till Thursday morning.
