Darkest Day Of Independent India, Bar Council Of India Over Delhi Police, Lawyers Clash

Mumbai: Condemning the recent protest following the scuffle between Delhi Police personnel and lawyers over the past three days Bar Council of India said it is the darkest day in the history of independent India.

“We have seen yesterday’s media reports by the Delhi Police on uncontrolled mob protests, protests and dirty abuses. It was the darkest day in the history of independent India. According to the news agency ANI, the Bar Council said in a statement, “It is definitely a politically managed move and it is very sad.”

Earlier today, a Supreme Court lawyer slapped a legal notice on Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik for “not taking action” against Delhi Police personnel protesting in front of the police headquarters at ITO.

“We demand that the convicted police officers be arrested within a period of one week, who will resort to peaceful for dharnas’ for the arrest of these people and appropriate disciplinary action against them.” The bar is united, ”BCI said.

Earlier, Two IPS officers have been transferred on the Delhi High Court’s direction in the aftermath of the Tis Hazari Court complex clashes.

The clash between lawyers and police left at least 20 police personnel and several lawyers injured on Saturday.
