Decision to Abrogate Article 370 Will Lead To Economic Integration OfJ-K: Piyush Goyal

Mumbai: Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, which were probably held back for more than 70 years, will revoke the post of economic integration.

“This is the early start of the change we want to see in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh which were probably held back for more than 70 years because we could not include decisions that would unify the region’s unity, integrity and Were necessary for prosperity.” Goyal said while speaking at a conclave on ‘Kashmironomics’ in New Delhi.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been deprived for a very long time. This political integration will surely lead to the economic integration of Jammu and Kashmir and this requires a collective effort.”

He said that the government’s decision is an important step to bring back the people of Jammu and Kashmir and is going to start a new trajectory of development for the people of the region to make the region an integral part of India.

Goyal said, “The world knows that the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir can make it one of the biggest income for the locals of the tourism sector. ”

The Union Minister said, “This is a time when food processing, tourism and various products can bring sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir, which can bring long term and balanced growth in different parts of the region.”

He said that it is a matter of pride that Constitution Day was celebrated for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday.

Goyal said, “It was a great tribute to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Sardar Patel, Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who worked for the integration of Jammu and Kashmir.”

In August this year, the government abolished Article 370, which gave special status to the then state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Parliament also passed a bill to divide the region into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
