Deepak Punia Defeats Pakistan’s Inam To Win India’s 3rd Gold Medal Of The Day At CWG 2022

Mumbai: Indian wrestler Deepak Punia defeated Pakistan’s Muhammad Inam to bag a gold medal in the men’s freestyle 86 kg category at CWG 2022.

He defeated Muhammad Inam of Pakistan at the Coventry Arena Wrestling Mat B on Friday.

Punia won the gold medal match 3-0. Punia won India’s third wrestling gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

The Indian wrestler took a 2-0 lead in the first period and in the last three minutes all the pressure was going on Punia’s opponent.

Punia was in good form in this match. In the final three minutes, he managed to hold his own and managed to keep his opponent away from the gold.

The Pakistani wrestler struggled to find a way through Punia’s strong defense and went home without scoring a point.

Overall, India have bagged nine gold medals at CWG 2022.
