Delhi Announces Free Bus Rides For Women In The Capital

Mumbai: The Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced that the bus rides in Delhi will be free for women. This proposal gained a lot of criticism in the Chief minister’s direction, as the free ride would increase security risks as there will be overcrowding in the DTC buses.

The Delhi government answered to the question of security by saying that the busses will be deployed with Marshals, which will avoid any problematic situations from happening in the busses. The government is trying its best to maintain safety and security for women. The women will be getting free rides from October 29th. The AAP leader also pointed out that the government was trying to make people’s money useful for them by providing free services to women.

Mr. Kejriwal also said that the Delhi government was also trying to make similar provisions in the metro area. As the metro is partially under the state government and the other 50% is under the center, it has hit a roadblock.

As per the reports, the Delhi government is ready to pay for women’s ride in the metro but the DMRC states that they cannot carry out any new rule without the center’s permission and that a delegate has informed in the parliament about this proposal but no official permission is asked. But the reports confirm that Kejriwal is determined to make the metro rides free for women.
