Delhi CM Announces Online Yoga Classes For COVID-19 Patients In Home Isolation

Mumbai: Amid rising COVID-19 cases, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday addressed a press conference and said that the Delhi government will organize special yoga or pranayama classes for patients undergoing home isolation.

CM Kejriwal said, “The rate at which COVID-19 cases are being reported for the last two-three days has come down. I hope this trend will continue. In Delhi, 2,500 COVID19 patients are admitted in hospitals, while others are at home isolation.” Also Read: Work From Home For All Private Offices In Delhi Except Those Under Exempted Category

He further added, “A new initiative has been launched by the government under ‘Delhi Ki Yogshala’, under which a trainer will teach yoga to COVID-19 patients for their speedy recovery. We all know that yoga improves immunity. For those who are in home isolation, we will send the link for yoga classes, he added.

Kejriwal said, “Today we will send a link to all the patients who are home quarantined and they can confirm their availability and their timings. In the morning, there will be five classes for one hour each, starting from 6 am to 12 pm, while in the evening, the classes will be from 4 pm to 7 pm.”

Delhi reported over 19,000 new cases yesterday, marginally lower than Sunday’s 22,751. The positivity rate stood at 25 per cent yesterday, the highest since May 5. The city also reported 17 deaths.
