Delhi COVID Restrictions Will Go Soon, 10% Positivity Rate Today: CM Kejriwal

Mumbai: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday indicated that his government would soon lift the restrictions imposed in the wake of the COVID-19 threat posed by the Omicron variant.

Kejriwal said that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi will help normalize life.

“Soon we will try to do away with (COVID-19) restrictions and bring your life back to normalcy… will make all efforts in that direction,” the Delhi CM said at a program on the occasion of Republic Day here.

He informed that the positivity rate has come down in Delhi and vaccination has helped in dealing with the situation.

“COVID-19 positivity rate has reduced by 20 per cent in the span of last 10 days. Today it’s about 10 per cent, opposed to 30 per cent positivity rate on January 15. All of this is because of the consistent pace of vaccination,” Kejriwal said.

Meanwhile, Delhi on Monday recorded a decrease in its daily tally with 5,760 fresh cases and 30 deaths, according to the city health department. The positivity rate also dropped to 11.79 per cent on Monday with active cases at 45,140.
