Mumbai: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested the mastermind of an interstate ‘sextortion’ gang on Saturday.
The Crime Branch said that the mastermind along with his associates extorted money from many people by allegedly threatening them to circulate their ‘objectionable videos’.

The gang would extort a huge sum of money from the victims by threatening to release their obscene videos on social media.
Delhi has seen a rise in cases of blackmailers laying honey traps and also hacking private images and videos.
Sextortion is extorting money or sexual favours from people by threatening to reveal evidence of their sexual activity.
The Delhi police had busted a sextortion gang and arrested the mastermind from Gurugram, earlier in June.
As the trade has gone digital amid Covid-19, the epidemic of sextortion has also rattled the National Capital.
