Delhi Police Register Over 1,200 Cases For Bursting Crackers On Diwali

Mumbai: Despite a blanket ban on bursting firecrackers, Delhi Police have registered over 1,200 cases for sale/bursting of crackers and held more than 850 people for violating government orders.

A total of 1,314 kg of firecrackers were also seized. In Rohini, 65 FIRs were lodged against violators and two cases against illegal firecracker sales. Meanwhile, Delhi’s AQI became ‘very poor’ on Monday.

According to Delhi Police, 139 calls were received from the Rohini district.

65 FIRs were filed against the violators and two cases were against the illegal sale of firecrackers. Meanwhile, Dwarka registered 72 cases against the bursting of firecrackers.

The highest number of cases was registered in the South district.
