Delhi’s Daily COVID-19 Cases Drop For 5th Day; 12,481 Cases, 347 Deaths Recorded

Mumbai: The daily surge in coronavirus cases in Delhi has shown a decline for the fifth day in a row as 12,481 new cases of coronavirus and 347 deaths were recorded on Tuesday.

The total death toll touched 20,010 including the new deaths. The cumulative caseload in the national capital went up to 13,48,699 including 83,809 active cases and 12,44,880 total discharges/recoveries.

The positivity rate also came in at 17.76 per cent, the lowest since April 14 this year when it was 15.92.

The cumulative case fatality rate is 1.48 per cent. A total of 70,276 tests including 54,619 RT-PCR / CBNAAT / True Net test and 15,6579 rapid antigen test were conducted in the national capital in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic on Sunday, the Delhi government has extended the lockdown to 17 May. Delhi has been closed since April 19 due to a COVID-19 infection.

In the new guidelines issued by the Delhi government, Delhi Metro services have been suspended since Monday and wedding ceremonies have been observed at all public places.

According to the latest guideline, marriage is allowed only in court or in the house with maximum participation of 20 people. E-pass remains a place for movement in the national capital for essential services.
