“Democracy Is India’s Nature And Its Natural Tendency,” PM Modi At 82nd All India Presiding Officers’ Conference

On crossing the milestone of administering 110 crore vaccine doses in the country, PM said that it is a historic day

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the inaugural session of the 82nd All India Presiding Officers’ Conference in Shimla via video conferencing and said, “for India, democracy is not just a system. Democracy is India’s nature and its natural tendency.”

While addressing the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of everyone who have helped in completing the development projects in the nation and to fight against Coronavirus.

“Be it the solution to long-pending issues of northeast or completion of big development projects halted for decades – there are numerous works like these that have been completed by the nation in the last few years with efforts of everyone. Biggest example- Corona -is before us,” Modi said.

On crossing the milestone of administering 110 crore vaccine doses in the country, PM said that it is a historic day and in the coming years we must achieve extraordinary goals.

“The nation fought this big battle in unity by bringing all the states together, this is historic in itself. Today India has crossed the milestone of 110 crore vaccine doses. Something that seemed impossible once is now becoming possible,” PM Narendra Modi.

He added, “In the years to come, we’ve to take the nation to new heights. We’ve to achieve extraordinary goals. This resolve can be completed only with the efforts of everyone. When we talk of everyone’s efforts in democracy, in India’s federal system, the role of all states is its major foundation.”

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur informed that 75% of Himachal citizen have received 2nd dose and hopes to lead a normal life.

“The state covered its population with 1st dose before any other state in the country. I thank the people. We’ve also administered 75% of 2nd dose to the people. I’m confident that the nation will come out of the COVID crisis soon &lead a normal life,” Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur.

On September 3, Himachal Pradesh became the first state in India to have achieved a 100 per cent vaccination rate (first dose only) for its eligible residents.

On Tuesday, India recorded 10,351 new cases of Covid, pushing the case rate to the lowest in 274 days.
