Devendra Fadnavis To Give Reply To Supreme Court Notice

Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will give proper response to the Supreme Court’s notice on the demand for the cancellation of his election in the state assembly for alleged non-disclosure of pending criminal cases against him” Said CMO.

Fadnavis filed all the details about the case against him in the election affidavit in 2014. The petitioner had transferred the High Court, who called the matter as baseless.

The SC’s notice was whether or not to admit the plea, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.

Earlier this morning SC issued an notice on the petition demanding his qualification as a legislator for not revealing, in the 2014 Census, two criminal cases pending against him.

The Bombay High Court had rejected the petition of a Satish Ukey, in which his nomination papers had demanded the declaration of the Fadnavis election for the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for alleged non-disclosure of criminal cases pending against him.

On the other hand speaking on apex court notice NCP spokeperson Nawab Malik said to PTI “He has lost the moral right to stay on the chief minister’s post. The Supreme Court will disqualify his election whenever it does. We demand him to immediately step down from his post.”

All India Congress Committee secretary for Maharashtra Ashish Dua tweeted saying “Leaders of #BJP lead by example…When #devendrafadnavis. #Maharashtra CM, Union Ministers & top leaders are hiding facts who have taken shelter under umbrella of opacity, untruth & arrogance…People of the country are ready to oust such an Empire of Lies.”
