Dharavi’s Tally Of COVID-19 Patients Crosses 200-Mark

Mumbai: The number of coronavirus positive patients in Dharavi area of ​​Mumbai crossed the 200 marks on Thursday after 25 new cases were detected.

With these new cases, the number of patients in this densely populated slum area of ​​Mumbai has reached 214, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said.

Also, the death toll in the region has now risen to 13, he said.

Fresh positive cases were found in various areas of Dharavi, including Kutti Nagar, Matunga Labor Camp, Azad Nagar, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Chanda Bazar, Mukund Nagar and Kalyanwadi.

Dharavi is one of the largest slums in Asia, where about 1.5 million people live in small huts, making it one of the most congested areas of the metropolis.

The total number of cases in India have risen to 21,700, while the death toll has surged to 686.
