Didn’t Open Hospital In 7-Yr Rule, But Kejriwal Spent Over Rs 800 Cr On Ads: Sambit Patra

Mumbai: The BJP on Monday targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the management of COVID-19, saying that the AAP chief did not open a single hospital during his 7-year rule, but spent Rs 800 crore for campaigning.

ANI quoted BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra saying, “Arvind Kejriwal spent Rs 804.93 crores on advertisements since 2015. But he did not open a single hospital during his 7-year rule. Before forming his government, Kejriwal had promised to add 30,000 new hospital beds.”

He questioned the Delhi government as to why it appears that the Center is adopting a differential approach in the national capital regarding the supply of oxygen.

“If a patient is suffering from lack of oxygen, then it is against humanity. But there should be no politics on this. If the Indian government can give oxygen to Maharashtra and other states, why do the Delhi Government think that the Centre is adopting a different approach towards Delhi?” he asked Kejriwal.

Delhi’s Health Department said on Monday that there have been 12,651 new COVID-19 cases and 319 deaths in the national capital in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative caseload in the national capital reached 13,36,218 including 85,258 active cases and 12,31,297 total discharges / recoveries. New fatalities brought the death of COVID to 19,663 in Delhi.
