Divine Punishment: BJP’s Ram Kadam After ED Arrests Sanjay Raut

Mumbai: BJP leader Ram Kadam, without naming Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut after the ED arrested him, on Monday said it is a “divine punishment”.

Ram Kadam tweeted, “Ukhar Diya, Batao, Ye Kisne Kisko Kaha Tha? Isliye Kahawat Hain. Chingari Khel Bada Bura Hota Hain….Auro Ke Gharo mein Aag Lagane Ka Sapna…Khud Ke Hi Ghar Mein Khada Hota Hain.. Ye Ishwariya Dand Hain….Naye Badle Huye Bharat ke Kanoon Tatha Shashakt Loktantra Ke Takaat hain. (Now Tell, Who told this to whom, That’s why they say, It not good to play with fire, Those who dream to set other people’s house on fire, finds himself standing in his own house. This is divine punishment…This is New India’s New Law…The power of democracy).”

Raut had on Sunday claimed that the central agency’s action was aimed at weakening the Shiv Sena and a “false” case had been prepared against him.

An FIR has been registered in Mumbai against Sanjay Raut for allegedly threatening Swapna Patkar, wife of Sujit Patkar, a close aide of Shiv Sena leader.

A case was registered under sections 504,506 and 509 of the IPC at Vakola police station. An audio clip of Swapna had gone viral in which Raut was purportedly heard threatening her.

Notably, Swapna Patkar Patra is a witness in the Chawl land case, for which the Enforcement Directorate took Raut into custody after raiding Raut’s residence on Sunday.

Raut was detained by Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in the eligible rice land scam case after raids at his residence in Mumbai on Sunday, however, Sanjay Raut’s counsel said earlier in the day that his client was neither detained nor arrested. ED has given a fresh summon to Sanjay Raut, today morning.

On that basis, Sanjay Raut has come to the ED office to record the statement. He has neither been arrested nor detained,” Raut’s counsel had said. ED sleuths reached Raut’s residence around 7 am on Sunday and conducted the raid.
