Do Indians Lack a Basic Hotel Etiquette?

Mumbai: If looked into the research conducted in 2007, we find Indians second to the last of being the worst tourists in the world. Though Italians are rated worst and these Indian habits are getting worse day by day. Ixigo a hotel searching website posted a video sharing the Do’s and don’ts of taking things from the hotel.

Another story came into light when a family was caught in Bali stealing the material from their hotel rooms.

Though one should take home anything from the hotels it is considered okay to take some coffee pouches or shampoos, but what do you think of stealing a hair dryer or a beautiful small box? It’s an absolute NO! any one stealing from the hotels is liable for punishment.

The family too was caught in an act of carrying hair dryer, towels and a couple of other things. The family paid a hefty fine and got away with it but acts like these define Indian culture in the world. According to reports Indian travellers are considered to be rude with their service providers. So much so that some carry their own chefs, showing no interest in trying the regions special cuisine. This family video gained a lot of trolls and comments like “Now Indians will have to teach the basics of going abroad and staying in hotels.”

The Ixigo having one of the best marketing teams jotted down what a person could take things from their hotel rooms and what he cannot. The video got a lot of traction and appreciation from people. The video too earned a huge amount of fanbase. Some people commented it was okay to take little things like earbuds or shampoos.

Some also said by stealing we only demerit ourselves and a group of indifferent people commented “We pay for the complete hospitality of the hotel and all these things come from the same money. so why not take them with us” Situations like these make us question our own habits.

Also, Indians are reported to leave their rooms messy when they leave. People from Japan are known to have the best hotel etiquette followed by Americans and the Swiss.
