Mumbai: As Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra received notice from Uttar Pradesh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (UPCPCR) in connection with Kanpur shelter home case, she slammed CM Yogi Aditynath and his government saying that they are wasting their time by threatening her through various departments.
“My duty as a public servant is towards the people of Uttar Pradesh and to keep the truth in front of them. No government propaganda should be put forward. The UP government is wasting its time by threatening me through its various departments,” the Congress leader said.
Targeting the ruling party at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress leader said that she will keep telling the truth as she is not an “undeclared spokesperson of the BJP” like some Opposition leaders.
She said, “Do whatever you want to do, I will put forth the truth. I am not the BJP’s undisclosed spokesperson like some opposition leaders, but the granddaughter of Indira Gandhi.”
On Thursday, the UPCPRC issued a notice to Priyanka asking it to issue an addendum on its Facebook post about the Kanpur shelter home case.
“Action will be taken if corrigendum is not issued in time,” the notice read.
