Doctor Found Dead At Lajpat Nagar Home

Mumbai: On Tuesday morning a 30-year-old junior resident doctor of Safdarjung Hospital was found dead in his room in South Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar.

Police said that Sudhanshu Singh, who used to work as an anaesthetic in the hospital, was found with an intravenous drip attached to him.

According to a preliminary investigation, Singh’s flatmate Dr Rudra went to check on him after noticing that he had not come out of his room from the past 2-3 days. Rudra told cops that he returned from work around 2:30 am on Tuesday and got up when the domestic help came at 8 am. She told that Singh has not come out of the room since 2-3 days neither he was responding to multiple knocks.

Rudra then tried to open the door and noticed a foul smell coming from inside. He then called Singh’s sister and police. The police broke open the door and found the victim lying on the floor with the IV drip attached to his arm. The body has started to decompose.

Officers suspect Singh committed suicide, but no suicide note has been found so far. The probe revealed that there was no forced entry into the room. Cops are speaking to Singh’s family to know about the last time they spoke to him. They are scanning the victim’s mobile to get more information. Neighbour’s told Officers that they did not see anyone entering Singh’s room. The CCTV footage of the area is also been scanned.
