Domestic Help In B’luru Threatens Man To Leak His Indecent Pics, Extorts Money

Mumbai: A 30-year-old house help was arrested for allegedly blackmailing and extorting ₹1.2 lakh from her 55-year-old ex-employer in Bengaluru.

Commenting on the matter, the police said that the accused worked at the 55-year-old man’s house for six years. However, he left his job at home due to the COVID-induced lockdown. However, when she again approached the man for work, he denied citing he had already recruited another domestic help during the period. This did not go too well with the house help and she resorted to blackmailing him.

Describing this whole incident, the man said in his complaint that, “In August, she sent me some obscene pictures of me. I was taking medicine and sleeping pills since 2016. Maybe she took pictures of me while I was sleeping. She threatened to upload them on social media and demanded money if I didn’t want her to do so,” as per the report published in the Times of India.

Police said the accused took photographs of the man while he was in bed and also had some photographs of his half-naked body. At first, she asked the man for Rs 1.2 lakh, then he agreed to give it to her. Later, when she demanded Rs 15 lakh from her for removing the photographs, the man was unable to bear the mental torture as he did not have the above amount and approached the police in this regard.

Thus, based on the complaint lodged by that person, a case was registered against Sonia under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and after investigation, she was arrested on November 16.

The police officer further highlighted that the woman confessed to her crime and said that he clicked her pictures when she went to take a bath or came out of the washroom.

Meanwhile, when the incident came to light, the police seized Sonia’s mobile phone and recovered obscene pictures of the victim. The woman was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.
