Mumbai: Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi slammed BJP led government over Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register Citizens says it is an attack on the poor.
“Whether it is NRC or NPR, it is a tax on the poor, demonetization was a tax on the poor. It is an attack on the poor, now the poor are asking how will we get employment?” Gandhi said.
Rahul Gandhi was speaking in Chhattisgarh where he attended the National Tribal Dance festival.
“Earlier the world used to say that India and China are growing at the same pace, but now the world is seeing violence in India, women are not feeling safe on the streets and rising unemployment,” he continued.
On Thursday, Gandhi joined the BJP to call PM Narendra Modi a ‘liar’. In a tweet, Gandhi said – “RSS prime minister lies to Bharat Mata”. He also shared a video showing the road leading to an alleged detention center in Assam.
