Early Trends Show BJP Crossing Majority Mark In Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections

Mumbai: Early trends in the counting of votes for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections showed that the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in 62 seats, followed by the Samajwadi Party in 28 seats.

BJP candidate from Rae Bareli Aditi Singh is leading in early trends. According to Election Commission of India data at 9.20 am, BJP candidate from Sandila seat, Alka Singh is leading over Abdul Mannan of Bahujan Samaj Party by 1,358 votes.

BJP’s Ramkesh Nishad is leading over Samajwadi Party’s Brajesh Kumar Prajapati by 2,299 votes from the Tindwari seat.

BJP’s Anil Kumar is leading over BSP candidate Mu Rafiq from Shikarpur seat by a margin of 2,597 votes, while BJP candidate Pankaj Singh is leading over SP’s Sunil Choudhary from Noida seat by a margin of 3,074 votes.

Meanwhile, BJP’s Om Kumar is leading over Rashtriya Lok Dal’s Munshi Ram by a margin of 1,232 votes in the Nehtaur constituency. Ram Ratan Kushwaha of BJP is leading over Ramesh Prasad of SP by 2100 votes from the Lalitpur seat.

According to official figures, Jai Pratap Singh of BJP is leading over Naveen of SP by 723 votes from the Bansi seat at 9.20 am. However, Samajwadi Party is also leading in four seats which include Behat, Najibabad, Chandpur and Pilibhit seats.

Besides, RLD and Apna Dal are leading in Chhaprauli and Nanpara constituencies respectively.

Counting of votes began at 8 am on Thursday for 403 assembly seats across the state. Exit polls on Monday predicted a clear victory for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, with the party’s winning scale varying in different elections.
