EC Sent Notice To Two TV Serials ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai’ And ‘Tujhse Hai Raabata’ For Showing Political Influential Content

Mumbai: In Maharashtra, the election commission officials have asked to two Hindi TV serial’s production houses in accused of embracing the government of BJP’s schemes to get ‘politically influential’ content screened before it is telecast.

Officials said that the telecast was clearly against the model code of conduct.

On Monday, Dilip Shinde, Maharashtra’s additional chief electoral officer said in an order, “Production houses must instigate the Politically influential content checked from the election commission officials before using it in their serials.”

An objection was raised by the Congress against two TV serials for complementing government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Swacch Bharat Abhiyan and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.

Shinde added saying, “The content is a violation of the model code of conduct for which we have asked the production house to remove the part from the serials instantly”

The 2 TV serials are ‘Bhabhi JI Ghar par Hain’ and ‘Tujhse hai Raabta’ for which the EC has subjected to remove the political content that influenced a single party.

The decision came a week back when Congress complaint about TV serials exposing benefits of schemes run Prime Minister Narendra Modi. after which the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has sent notices to Binaifer Kohli and Sanjay Kohli’s Edit II Productions (Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai) and Sonali Potnis and Aamir Jeffers Full Media House (Tujhse Hai Raabta).

Subsequently, the 2 production house had replied for it.

On the political allegations, the producers said that they did not have any kind of intention for promoting a political party. Officials said that also the content shown was general in nature.

The producers have been stated by the Electoral to further not show any such content which may influence a particular political party.
