Eknath Shinde To Be The Next CM Of Maharashtra

Mumbai: Rebel Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde will be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis announced.

This comes after the duo met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to stake a claim to form government in the state.

Fadnavis also announced that he will stay out of the government

Fadnavis said the BJP would extend its support to the Shinde camp, which has 39 MLAs as well as 16 independents and others.

“The Shinde-led government will effectively resolve the issues that have been stalled for the last two and a half years.”

Uddhav Thackeray resigned as Maharashtra chief minister on Wednesday after the Supreme Court refused to stop a floor test that the MVA government was set to lose, turning the focus on the BJP as the next government backed by insurgents expected to make.

Shinde, who led the rebels, was expected to be sworn in as deputy chief minister and Fadnavis as chief minister after losing power in 2019, when the Shiv Sena pulled out of the pre-poll alliance with the BJP and formed a coalition government. With the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party. Thackeray’s resignation ended Fadnavis’ campaign to topple the MVA government.

The battle for Shiv Sena is expected to play out differently in front of the Election Commission of India as Shinde has said that it is the Shiv Sena. It remains to be seen how many Shiv Sena MPs support the Shinde faction.

Shinde on Wednesday reiterated that he was not a rebel and remained a Shiv Sainik to carry forward the agenda of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray and the ideology of Hindutva.

Thackeray maintained he was not going anywhere either and will meet Shiv Sainiks at Sena Bhavan and rebuild the party with new blood. He insisted the Shiv Sena will remain the same and nobody can take it away from them. Thackeray said he was not going away forever and will be around to gather all his people.
