Mumbai: Due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome disease the death toll has increased to 112 in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district.

Meanwhile, ANI cited the people who went to the Krishna Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur with their children saying that their children are suffering from fever. They alleged that sick children are not being admitted to the hospital. They also alleged that children were not given any ORS.

“No one has told us anything about or given us ORS. We don’t know the symptoms of AES. Our children are burning with fever since 4-5 days. Doctor asked us to get medicines for them and said they’ll admit them if the fever doesn’t go down after that. We don’t have money,” said a worried parent.

Earlier, CM Nitish Kumar had announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the children who died due to AES.

He had also given directions to the health department, district administration and doctors to take necessary measures to fight the outbreak.
