England VS Australia: Steve Smith Ruled Out OF Ashes

Mumbai: The Australia star, Steve Smith has been ruled out of Ashes Test beginning on Thursday last week. Coach Justin Langer confirmed the news of the cricket star being ruled out as he was suffering Concussion.

Smith, whose two centuries in the first Test, played a very significant role in Australia taking 1-0 lead returned to bat on Sunday even after he had a blow on the side of his neck. He woke up on the final day on Sunday feeling groggy and hence Australia took up the concussion substitute Marnus Labuschagne who played a key inning in the match.

The Ashes is the first being played under ICCs new concussion substitute rule that provides the team to replace the player fully by a substitute who was previously restricted to fielding alone.

During the Saturday match, Smith was seen playing without an additional stem neck guard protection which was introduced after the death of former Australian Teammate Philip Hughes who was hit by a bouncer hit him.

Smith has been in ominous form in the ongoing Ashes, but a lethal bouncer from Jofra Archer had him at bay as he had to leave the ground to get medical attention. In the three innings he featured thus far in the Ashes, he has slammed a century in each of them.
