Fake Policeman Rapes 2 Minor Girls After Spotting Them With Boys In Andhra

Mumbai: A man impersonating a police official allegedly raped two minor girls who went for New Year’s celebration with their male friends on January 1 in Andhra Pradesh, police said.

A complaint regarding this was lodged at the Kurupam police station in the night, following which the accused, identified as V Rambabu (35) was arrested.

The report said that Rambabu is once again a criminal with at least 14 cases against him, while the remaining two are intermediate students of a government residential college. According to the police, both the girls had gone to a reservoir in Ravda village to spend some time with their male friends. Rambabu saw girls and boys at that place.

According to a report published by the Times of India, Rambabu reached the spot on his motorcycle after seeing the girls with their male friends and clicked their pictures. He then threatened them saying that he would send the pictures to their teacher and parents. He even threatened to broadcast them on social media.

Later Rambabu asked the boys to leave and took the minor girls to a garden. In the garden, he sexually assaulted the girls and threatened them that he would upload the pictures if he disclosed the crime to anyone. The girl, however, narrated their harrowing ordeal before their warden after returning to the hostel, following which the police were informed and the accused was arrested.

The minor girls have been sent for medical examination. Vizianagaram police chief Deepika M Patil said the accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, along with a charge sheet in the case to be filed in a week.

This comes after a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 26-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district. The accused, identified as Shahbaz, committed the crime when the minor was on his way to school. He allegedly sexually assaulted her by taking her to a dilapidated building. Later the victim returned home and told her parents about the incident, after which a case was registered and the accused was arrested.
