Families Of Those Killed In Mumbai Building Collapse To Get ₹5 Lakh

Mumbai: Families of the people who died in the building collapse incident in Mumbai’s Malad West will be given ₹5 lakh each as compensation, said Maharashtra Minister Aslam Shaikh.

“Families of the deceased will be given Rs 5 Lakhs each as compensation,” said Maharashtra Minister Aslam Shaikh.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray visited Ambedkar Hospital in Mumbai’s Kandivali to meet the people who were injured.

At least 11 people, including eight minors, lost their lives after the residential building collapsed.

In this incident, 18 people have been safely rescued, while seven have been injured. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the collapse affected a nearby residential structure.

The building, which is in dangerous condition has been evacuated. Rescue operations are still underway. Mumbai police said it will register a case under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the owner of the residential structure that collapsed on Wednesday night.
