Farmers Protest: Rahul Gandhi Drives Tractor To Parliament, Says Brought Farmers Message

Mumbai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached Parliament on Monday for the ongoing monsoon session in support of farmers who are opposing the three new agricultural laws of the central government.

Talking to the media, the former Congress President said that he has brought the message of farmers to Parliament.

He also attacked the BJP government at the Center led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying it was suppressing his voice.

“I’ve brought farmers’ message to Parliament. They (The government of India) are suppressing the voices of farmers and not letting a discussion take place in Parliament. They’ll have to repeal these black laws. The entire country knows these laws favor two-three big businessmen,” he said.

“As per Govt, farmers are very happy and those (protesting farmers) sitting outside are terrorists. But in reality, farmers’ rights are being snatched away,” Gandhi added.

Farmers have been protesting against three new agricultural laws at different borders of Delhi since November 26 last year. Several rounds of talks have taken place between farmer leaders and the Center but the deadlock remains.
