Father Hangs Self From Electric Pole After Daughter’s Molestation
Mumbai: The father of a teenage molestation victim in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from an electric pole.
A suicide note, purportedly written by the deceased, reportedly suggested that the daughter’s school principal and others had been pressuring the father to withdraw the case. His daughter had accused a teacher from her school of molesting her.
The incident took place late Saturday night in Garhakota, 42 kilometres from the district headquarters here, PTI reported.
“The suicide note alleges that the female principal and some others were forced to withdraw the molestation case lodged by their daughter last month,” said Kamalendra Kalachuri, in-charge of Gadakota police station.
The victim of class X had accused a teacher of being identified as Pradeep Jain, after which he was arrested last month under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the official said.
“Based on the suicide note, we have accused the school principal and others of abetment to suicide under section 306 of the IPC. No arrests have been made so far,” Kalchuri said.
The official said that the family members of the deceased also blocked the road demanding strict action against those responsible for the death.
