Xi told Me He Watched ‘Dangal’: PM Modi In Campaign Speech For Babita

Mumbai: Addressing a rally in Haryana’s Dadri on Tuesday ahead of Assembly Elections, PM Narendra Modi said that Chinese President Xi Jinping told him that he watched the 2016 film ‘Dangal’ and praised it.

He said, “During my recent informal summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he said that he had seen the movie ‘Dangal’ which showed the outstanding performance of India’s daughters. I am proud to hear Haryana.” here.

Modi thanked the people of the state for making the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative a fruitful one.

“If Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” would not have been so comprehensive, effective and fruitful if the villages of Haryana had not moved forward? Every person in Haryana says that ‘My loops are less than loops?’ he said.

The Prime Minister said that the government is taking steps for economic empowerment and self-employment of women.

Modi said, “An important announcement was made in this year’s budget. People associated with self-help groups will be able to borrow Rs. 5,000 for their needs apart from savings from their Jan Dhan accounts.”

Modi said that around 19 lakh ex-servicemen have been benefited from ‘One Rank, One Pension’ (OROP) across the country.

“When I came to Rewari in 2013, I promised ex-servicemen that OROP would be implemented when they came to power. As soon as the government was formed, this promise was fulfilled and there were around 19 lakh ex-servicemen across the country. It has benefited, they said.

Modi stressed that unprecedented efforts are being made to promote sports infrastructure in the state.
“Through the Khelo India campaign, talent is being recognized even in remote villages. Apart from this, facilities are being provided from villages to cities to the Olympic Games,” he said.

Haryana, which is having 90-member Assembly, is slated to go to polls on October 21.
