Mumbai: An FIR was lodged against producer Ekta Kapoor and others in Indore for hurting religious sentiments, insulting army personnel and improper use of the national symbol in the web series ‘Triple X Season 2’, police said on Saturday.

According to the police, an FIR has been lodged at the Annapurna Police Station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the IT Act.

Station House Officer (SHO) Satish Dwivedi told ANI, “After a preliminary investigation, the police registered an FIR against Ekta Kapoor for hurting religious sentiments and insulting the national symbol in the web series under several sections of the IPC and IT Act.

Complainant Neeraj Yagnik said that he filed a complaint in the case after seeing objectionable use of the national emblem and army uniform in the web series.

“In the last few days, a video of an army officer’s comment on a web series has been going viral on social media. When I heard about that video, I saw the web series. I found that many offensive things in the web series. It has portrayed the family of Army personnel as “characterless”,” Yagnik told ANI here.

He said that the web series sends a “wrong message” to the society and also “demolishes” the armed forces.

“Army uniforms and national emblems are used improperly in web series. It appears as if the web series is willing to do anything for the money. So I filed an FIR against the director, producer and writer of the web series,” Yagnik added
