Fire Breaks Out At Serum Institute Of India In Pune

Mumbai: A fire broke out at Terminal 1 gate of Serum Institute of India in Maharashtra’s Pune on Thursday, ANI reported. As many as 10 fire tenders were reportedly rushed to the spot to douse the flames.

No person is trapped inside the under-construction building, as per initial information.

The cause of fire at SII plant is not yet known.

Sources said that Covishiled is not being produced at the SII building, where a major fire broke out on Thursday.

The building under construction is adjacent to the plant, where covishields are being produced.

Covishiled has been developed by Oxford University and the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca and produced by SII.
