First Look Of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Out, Kartik Aaryan To Step Into Akshay Kumar’s Shoes

Mumbai: After the tremendous success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety released in 2018, Kartik Aaryan is on a signing spree. This year itself the actor became a part of two films – Luka Chuppi which hit the screens earlier this year and upcoming flick Pati Patni Aur Woh. Moreover, he also wrapped up the shoot of his forthcoming outing, Aaj Kal which is helmed by Imtiaz Ali. Kartik also has Dostana 2 alongside Janhvi Kapoor and the exciting announcement was made a few weeks back.

Earlier it was reported that Kartik will be stepping into the shoes of Akshay Kumar in the sequel of his hit film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Today, finally the news has been confirmed and the first look of the actor is unveiled. In the poster, Kartik is donning similar outfit which Akshay had donned in the first poster of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The second instalment will be helmed by Anees Bazmee, unlike the first one which was directed by Priyadarshan.

“Bhool Bhulaiyaa has been one of my favourite horror comedies. Being part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 makes me happy, especially because I’ve been a big fan of Akshay Kumar sir. It’s a big responsibility to take his franchise forward,” Kartik said.

Bazmee remains tight-lipped when asked if the sequel will pick up from where the Kumar-starrer had left. He is more forthcoming in stating that the story, written by Farhad Samji and Akash Kaushik, will take on society’s superstitious ways. “It reinvents the premise of the first film and is a fresh take on the genre. It talks about how society is blinded by superstitions in a humorous manner.”
