Food Distribution Picks Up Momentum On Central Railway

Mumbai: In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Central Railway started distributing food packets, grocery kits, biscuits, packaged drinking water bottles to the needy people at various stations on Mumbai, Nagpur, Solapur, Bhusaval and Pune divisions from 28.3.2020. With voluntary contributions and physical assistance, Central Railway has distributed 1,000 food packets on 28.3.2020, 2,485 food packets on 29.3.2020, 3,340 food packets on 30.3.2020.

The food was arranged by the commercial department in co-ordination with IRCTC, NGOs, RPF personnel etc, on 30.3.2020

In Mumbai Division 1027 food packets were distributed at CSMT, Byculla, Mulund, Kalyan, Igatpuri, Dadar station surrounding area and also at Kalbadevi, Madanpura area.

In Solapur Division 360 food packets were distributed at Kalaburagi, Solapur station surrounding area.

In Pune Division 794 food packets were distributed at Pune & Kolhapur station surrounding area.

In Bhusaval Division 240 food packets were distributed at Akola, Khandwa, Badnera, Amaravati, Shegaon & Bhusaval station surrounding area.

In Nagpur Division 205 food packets were distributed at Nagpur, Wardha & Betul station surrounding area.

RPF also distributed 714 food packets on 30.3.2020 on Mumbai Division at various stations.
