For Modi Government National Security Is Top Priority: Kovind

Mumbai: President Ramnath Kovind while addressing the joint parliament session stated that national security is one of the top most priorities of the Narendra Modi government.

“All possible steps will be taken to ensure the country’s security as it was done after the terror attack in Pulwama,” Kovind said.

He also said that illegal intruders have created a major threat to India’s internal security, which is causing a social imbalance in many parts of the country.

“India has demonstrated its intentions and capabilities through surgical strikes on terrorists from across the border and then after the Pulwama attack.

“In the future too, all possible steps will be taken to ensure our security,” he said.

The President said that the Government has decided to implement the process of National Register of Citizens on the basis of priority in infiltrated areas.

Kovind said that on one hand, the government is working to identify intruders, on the other hand, it is also fully committed to protecting the victims of oppression due to the belief.

In this regard, he said, efforts will be made to amend the Citizenship Act while protecting linguistic, cultural and social identity.

“My government is fully working to overcome the threat of Naxalism from the country,” he said.

The President said that during the last five years there has been a great success in this direction. The area affected by Naxalism is continuously decreasing.
