Former AAP MLA Alka Lamba Joins Congress

Mumbai: Ahead of Delhi Legislative Assembly Election, former Aam Aadmi Party leader MLA Alla Lamba joined the Indian National Congress party led by Sonia Gandhi.

She returned to the party after five years, speaking with ANI news agency she said “I am very happy that the Congress party has again accepted me as its member. Though I was away from the party, I could not get separated from its ideology.”

Lamba said, “I am also thankful to Soniaji and Rahul Ji and other Congress leaders. I have joined the party to give voice to the people and their issues. I have joined the party.”

Lamba was disqualified from the Legislative Assembly in September on the grounds of defection. A few days after his announcement to join the Congress, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel disqualified him.
