Former Bangladesh Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Mumbai: Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza tested positive for Coronavirus on Saturday.

ESPN Cricinfo reported that the captain had gone for the coronavirus test last week and now his report has come back positive.

According to a report by ESPNCricinfo, it is not known how Murtaza contracted the virus.

Mashrafe, a Member of Parliament from the Narel 2 constituency, also stepped in as the ODI captain of the country in March this year.

The COVID19 cases in Bangladesh have crossed the 1,00,000 mark and the government is now planning a region-wise lockout.

Bangladesh was fielded to face Sri Lanka in a three-Test series in July and will host New Zealand later in August, but both series are yet to be shown.
