Former Footballer Dies Of COVID-19 In Kerala

Mumbai: Another COVID-19 death in Kerala was reported on Saturday to 15 people in the state.

The 61-year-old deceased Hamsa Koya, a former footballer representing Maharashtra in the Santosh Trophy, returned from Mumbai on May 21 with his family.

Koya was undergoing treatment at Manjeri Medical College, Malappuram. The medical bulletin stated that he was suffering from pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome.

On June 5, when his health worsened, he was given plasma therapy on the advice of the State Medical Board. However, he did not respond to the drugs and breathed his last at 6:30 Saturday morning.
