Former IAS Shah Faesal Detained At Delhi Airport

Mumbai: The former Kashmiri IAS Shah Faesal was detained at the Delhi airport on Wednesday. He was to fly to Istanbul from Delhi where he was detained, said an official. After he was arrested, he was again taken to Srinagar, Kashmir.

In Kashmir, the ex-officer was again detained under Public Safety Act (PSA). The Ex-IAS officer is now under house arrest, according to an official.

Along with Shah Faesal, other Kashmiri politicians have also claimed to be under house arrest. The politicians include former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, they are under house arrest since August 4.

The phone and internet services are still down in Kashmir and the curfew-like situations still prevail in the region.

Mr Faesal, however, has always been critical towards abrogation of article 370. He had earlier taken to Twitter to express his discontent about the government’s move. “There is no Eid. Kashmiris across the world are mourning the illegal annexation of their land. There shall be no Eid till everything that has been stolen and snatched since 1947 is returned back. No Eid till the last bit of insult is avenged and undone.”
