Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Passes Away at 92

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, widely regarded as one of India’s most influential leaders, reportedly passed away at the age of 92 in Delhi on Thursday.
Singh had been admitted to AIIMS Delhi earlier in the evening following a deterioration in his health. However, at the time of filing this report, AIIMS Delhi has neither officially confirmed his demise nor issued any updates on his condition.
Robert Vadra, husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, expressed his grief on Instagram, stating, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Thank you for your service to our Nation. You will always be remembered for your Economic revolution and progressive changes.”
Singh served as India’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, leading the country during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
Prior to his tenure as Prime Minister, Singh played a pivotal role as Finance Minister in PV Narasimha Rao’s government from 1991 to 1996, where he spearheaded transformative economic reforms that reshaped India’s economy.
A respected statesman, economist, and scholar, Singh was a member of the Rajya Sabha until earlier this year, marking the end of a long and illustrious political career. Known for his integrity, calm demeanor, and visionary leadership, Singh’s contributions to the nation will be remembered for generations to come.
